Our loving wife, mother, sister and dear friend, Bessie Franklin Guerrero, 86, passed away peacefully, January 31, 2023, while surrounded by family in the comforts of her home.

She was born October 31, 1936 in Elmo, Utah to John Roy and Ada Shirtz Franklin.  Married Angelo Paul Melo, they later divorced.  On April 5, 1972, she married Lupe Jr. Guerrero in Price, Utah where they shared 50 incredible years together.

Bessie shared a great love for fishing and she always out fished everyone in the family.  She loved camping, traveling, watching fishing shows and cooking for her family.  Bessie was a longtime resident of the area who worked as a cook at Jeanselme’s , Ricardo’s, Castle Country Care Center and eventually retired from Parkdale Care Center with 17 years of dedicated service.  Bessie will be dearly missed by her family and many longtime friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lupe Guerrero, Price; four daughters and two sons, Wanda Marie (Rick) Parry, Price, Frank (Cindy) Melo, Moab, George (Marnie) Melo, Moab, Barbara (Michael) Garcia, Price, Chris (Perry) Christensen, Spanish Fork, Margie (Pat) Garcia, Price; sister, Margie Tucker, Price; brother, Donald (Erma) Franklin, Ogden; 16 grandchildren and many loving great-grandchildren.

Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, Sarah, Leona and Laura Lou.

Funeral service, Friday, February 10, 2023, 10:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service.  Burial will be in the Price City Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Bessie online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
