The weather is warming up which means Price City Culture Connection Summer Concert Series will be kicking off in June. The line up this year is out of this world and will bring several acts to perform on summer evenings at the Price City Peace Garden. Price City Council Member, Layne Miller stopped by Castle Country Radio to discuss all the details.

The summer concerts in the park kick off on Thursday, June 8 at 7:00 pm with Johnny Utah which is a surf guitar rock and roll band. The schedule for the next few weeks will be as follows:

June 15        Summer and Cayden Bell             Modern Country Cross-over
June 22        Fabled Folks                                   Acoustic Celtic Pop Fusion
June 29        Rustic Poets                                    Country
July 6           Mesozoic                                          Classic Rock

A local favorite, Los Hermanos de los Andes  will take the stage on July 13 at 7:00 pm. “It’s a name everybody knows in town, Los Hermanos de los Andes is coming back. We call it Peruvian Mountain Music. It’s homemade instruments, flutes, all that kind of stuff and they are so good,” stated Miller. The group was unable to perform last summer so to have them be a part of this year’s line-up is exciting.

The line up will continue with the following:

July 20         Foxy Grandpa                            Pop rock genre
July 27         Rupert Wates                             Welsh Guitar Crooner

Price City has lined up some great entertainment for this year’s International Days Celebration. “We always have people say, do something international. So for the opening of International Days, which is on Thursday, we are bringing in Gemma Griffith. She’s a South African pop singer – now how do you get more international than that,” said Miller. This singer is a great way to kick off Price City’s annual International Days celebration.

Then on Friday, August 4 the organizers are bringing in something special for the community it’s Imagine: Beatles Tribute. “It’s a Beatles Tribute Band. Now everybody loves the Beatles, there’s probably not a bigger name in rock and roll than the Beatles, and I’ve listened to these guys – if you close your eyes, you can see the Beatles,” said Miller. This will be followed by the Carbon County favorite, The Deltaz which is classic blues music. Then on Saturday, August 5 you will have the opportunity to see Fiddlers Express, Stone Company and Angela Murray take the stage for entertainment for the day.

In cooperation with the Carbon County Fair the Price City Culture Connection Summer Concert Series will end with a concert on Thursday, August 10 at the Carbon County Fairgrounds with Charlie Jenkins, who is also a local favorite.
