Carbon High School senior Ridge Nelson has been voted Region 12’s Most Valuable Player after a stellar 2023 campaign, setting the pace for nine other All-Region awards for the team.

Leading the team with 42 hits throughout the season, Nelson accumulated a .477 batting average in 26 games. Registering 11 doubles and 47 RBIs, Nelson also posted a .553 on base percentage, with a .875 slugging percentage. He also led the team with 15 stolen bases.

Voted on by the coaches within the division, the Dinos were allowed four other All-Region First Team selections after winning the league with a record of 11-1.

Wyatt Falk earned a selection after dominating on the mound and at the plate. Ending with a 0.712 ERA, Falk gathered a 7-0 record with 71 strikeouts. As a hitter he brought in 35 RBIs, knocked five home runs, and hit .358 for the season.

Chet Anderson was steady at middle infield and in the box, leading to the All-Region selection. Set in the lead off role throughout the season, Anderson hit .402 and recorded 21 RBIs. Once on base Anderson was a nightmare for opposing teams as he swiped 13 bags and scored a team-high of 41 runs.

Outfielder Colton Lowe earned the recognition after hitting .355 on the season. Logging 13 extra base hits, Lowe played in all 26 games for the Dinos. He ranked top three in most offensive categories for the team, including home runs and RBIs, hitting four and 23 respectively.

Peyton Molinar was the fifth Carbon player to be mentioned among the division’s elite. Molinar brought in 13 RBIs and hit .350. Leading the team in walks with 20, Molinar finished with an on base percentage of .512.

The Dinos also received five All-Region Second Team selections. Camden Wilson, Maizen Prichard, Mike Vigil, Quade Henrie and Stockton Kennedy joined 16 others throughout the division, earning recognition for their outstanding play.
