Gilbert was one of the top golfers in the competitive Region 12 division, while leading the Lady Spartans to a third-place finish in region 12. Finishing the regional championship with a 98, Gilbert’s 94.7 season average placed her 8th overall in the division.

Emery High School senior Kimber Gilbert received an All-State Honorable Mention for her performance on the golf course during the 2023 campaign.

Gilbert was one of the top golfers in the competitive Region 12 division, while leading the Lady Spartans to a third-place finish in region 12. Finishing the regional championship with a 98, Gilbert’s 94.7 season average placed her 8th overall in the division.

Once at the State Championship, Gilbert continued her consistent play as she qualified for the second and final day individually with a first-round score of 93. Her second-round total of 96 gave her a final score of 189, tying for 32nd overall in the state.

Gilbert not only succeeded on the course but also in the classroom. In early May she was named to the 3A Academic All-State team, joining 10 other girls in the classification.

The Professional Golfers Association of America Utah Section selects the top 30 golfers in each classification to the All-State Teams. The selections are based purely on performance on the course, placing the top 10 on the First Team, the next 10 on the Second Team and the final 10 on the Honorable Mention list.
