Carbon volleyball was on their home court Tuesday night to face the Manti Templars. Carbon’s season has not gone in the direction that they hoped, however, the season is still a long way from over. The Lady Dinos were competitive in the match but Manti was able to close them out in straight sets, 3-0.
With the loss, Carbon slips to 5-9 overall and is now 2-4 in Region 12 play they also hold the No. 15 spot in the latest RPI rankings. The Lady Dinos have eight games left in the regular season against all region opponents.
In the match with Manti, every set was a battle, with the Templars just edging out Carbon in set one 25-23. The Lady Dinos also put up a fight in set two, but Manti took the slim edge 25-22.
In the third and final set, the Manti Templars took advantage and closed out the Lady Dinos 25-17 taking the win 3-0.
Carbon gets back on the court Thursday as they welcome the Emery Lady Spartans to the Carbon High gym. Emery sits at 8-5 overall and 3-3 in Region 12 play, they also sit at No. 4 in the latest RPI ranking.
This is the first meeting between the two teams this season, but last season, the two split the series with each team winning on its home floor.
