October brings in Halloween, and with Halloween comes the arrival of witches in the Castle Country Area. Luckily for residents, these witches only want to have a good time and raise money for charity through the sixth annual Wee Bit Wicked Witches Ball, which will be held on Friday, Oct. 4.

To talk about the event, Castle Country Radio sat down with Laurel Killpack to get wicked talking about witches.

The event will feature vendors serving both handmade items and food. One highlight will be Rubens BBQ which will be at the event with their iconic Texas BBQ. In addition to this, there will also be a loud and silent auction, which Killpack spoke excitedly about,” the auctions benefit the Shop with a Cop program here in the county, and it really is fun. The donations are fun, they’re generally Halloween themed.”

One change coming to this year’s rendition of the ball is that the light parade will start an hour earlier than usual at 6 p.m. Killpack explained this change,” It’s starting at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. because we found that it got too dark and people couldn’t enjoy the actual floats. They could only see the lights. So we’re starting a little earlier, but that’s so we can enjoy it more.” Another change coming to the parade is that it also features an extended route, and will start at 300 West in Huntington.

Finishing off the night, participants can dance with the witches starting at 8 p.m. in Huntington City Park. “I just want everybody to come watch the witches dance. Dance with the witches and dance with your partner and most importantly, have a great time,” stated Killpack.

The Sixth Annual Wee Bit Wicked Witches Ball will be held on Friday, Oct. 4 starting at 5 p.m. in Huntington City Park.
