The Lady Spartan volleyball team started their week on the road to face the Manti Templars. The Templars grabbed wins in the first two sets but Emery stormed back taking the next three and the match 3-2.

Emery moves to 10-7 overall and 5-5 in region play holding the No.8 spot in the latest RPI.

Manti came out firing in set number one taking a 25-18 win, and then came right back in set two and did the same thing to earn the 25-18 win and put the Templars up 2-0, and then the Lady Spartans took over.

In set three, Emery earned their first win with a 25-16 victory. Set number four was a dogfight as neither team was ready to let the other get the win, but the Lady Spartans persevered to take the 26-24 win.

In the fifth and final set, Emery and Manti went back and forth but it was the crew from Castle Dale who hung on for the set win 15-12 and earned the 3-2 match win.

Thursday the Lady Spartans will welcome the Juab Wasps (4-14, 0-10, No. 17) to the Spartan Center. Back on September 10, Emery traveled to Nephi and earned a 3-1 win.

Game time is set for 6:30 p.m..
