On Tuesday Emery welcomed Carbon and Grand to the Emery Aquatic Center. The Spartans used the home pool to their advantage as they claimed the top finishes in both the boys’ and the girls’ divisions.

On the girl’s side of the pool, Emery led the way with 607 points. The Lady Dinos finished in second with 436 and Grand came in third with 395.

The Lady Spartans earned a first, second, and third in relays. In the 200 free the team of Kate Bell, Sydni Lake, Morgan Mills, and Ashley Mesler took first with their time of 1:41.59. In the 200 medley Illyria Mason, Brooklyn O’Neil, Emma Grimm, and Jessie Childs swam to a second-place finish, and the Emery team of Hallie Frandsen, Hadley Meccariello, Annie Johnson, and Mesler earned a third-place finish in the 400 free.

In individual events, Frandsen earned a first-place finish with her time of 2:52.00 in the 200-individual medley and would go on to take third in the 100-yard breaststroke.  Illyria Mason also grabbed a first-place spot in the 100-yard backstroke turning in a time of 1:17.35,  and swam to third in the 200 IM.

Johansen went third in the 500 free, and Mesler took third in the 50 free. Meccariello swam to a third-place finish in the 100 free, and O’Neil took third in the 100 backstroke and a fifth-place finish in the 100 fly. Childs and Grimm each earned fourth-place finishes in the 100-fly and 100-yard breaststroke respectively. Four Lady Spartans earned fifth-place finishes as well- Maggie Jeffs (100-yard backstroke), Abbie Moulton (100 free), Lily White (100-yard breaststroke), and Lake (50 free).

The Lady Dinos earned a pair of first-place finishes in the 200 medley relay with the team of Evie Halk, Kanyon Christensen, Lily Thayn, and Maya Bower with their time of 2:15.77, and then again in the 400 free behind the team of Rachel Blackburn, Bower, Halk, and Christensen who turned in a time of 4:24.67. Aylen Lyman, Miley Hansen, Avy Atwwood, and Blackburn finished fourth in the 200 free.

Halk had a great day in the pool for Carbon earning two first-place finishes in the 200 free with her time of 2:23.91, and in the 500 free turning in a time of 6:32.03. Bower earned a top finish in the 100 fly with a time of 1:13.27, she also earned second in the 100-yard backstroke. Christensen also claimed first place in the 100 free turning in a time of 1:04.98.

Thayn claimed two second-place finishes in the 100 fly and the 100-yard breaststroke, and Blackburn had a pair of second-place finishes in the 200 free and the 500 free. Lyman earned a fourth-place finish in the 200 IM, and Hansen finished in fifth.

Emery also finished first on the boy’s side of the pool scoring 655. Carbon came in second with 393, and Grand took third with 314.

Emery took first in both 200 relays with the same team. Thomas Black, Trek Petersen, Parker Jenden, and Adam Olsen turned in a time of 1:53.54 in the medley and 1:38.19 in the free.  In the 400 Brekker Bunnell, Reve Mason, Jacob Morris, and Jaxon Durrant swam to a second-place finish.

Petersen earned a first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.83, he would also earn second in the 200 IM. Jensen claimed the top finish in the 200 free with a time of 2:09.97 and finished in third in the 500 free, and Tyler Dayley took first in the 100 free at 1:00.51 and fifth in the 50 free. Olsen took first in the 50 free closing out the field with his time of 24.44 and third in the breaststroke.

Reve Mason took second in the breaststroke, and third in the 200 IM, and Bunnell finished second in the 100 free. Devon Farley went third in the 100 fly, and fifth in the breaststroke, Jamison Christiansen went third in the 50 free, and fifth in the 500 free,  Corbin Madsen took third in the 100 free, and Morris went third in the 200 free. Black had a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 200 free and 100 backstroke, and Hyrum Russell took fourth in the 100 free. Durrant had a pair of fifth-place finishes in both the 200 free and the 100 back, and Cody Howard had a fifth place in the 100 fly.

The Carbon boys team of Logan Kranendonk, James Tullis, Bracken Hanson, and Mason Engar swam to first in the 4oo relay turning in a time of 3:55.02. In the 200 medley relay, the same team finished in second, and the team of Dallin Humes, Carlos Mendoza, Vincent Rondinelli, and Traxton Jewkes took fifth in the 200 free.

Engar finished first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:20.79, he would finish second in the breaststroke. Hanson took first in the 500 free with his time of 5:55.16 and fourth in the 50 free. Kranendonk claimed the top finish in the 100 fly with a time of 1:04.91 and was second in the 500 free. Tullis grabbed a first-place finish in the backstroke turning in his time of 1:07.17, and second in the 50 free.

Spencer Hawley earned a fourth-place finish in the 100 fly, and Jewkes took fifth in the 100 free.

Both squads will be back in the pool on December 6 & 7 when they will travel to Cedar City for the Canyon View Invitational.
