One of the Castle Country’s favorite yearly traditions returns to Price on Saturday, March 14, as Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church hosts its St. Patrick’s Day celebration, featuring the ever-popular corned beef and cabbage meal.
“It really is a great tradition in this community. This community really embraces St. Patrick’s Day. It’s a good rite of passage in springtime in our area and the parade’s a ton of fun,” said Nick Tatton, one of the event’s organizers.
“There’s going to be some usual fun fundraiser type stuff, silent auction, baked goods booth, things like that. And of course, the corned beef, we’re going to start cooking that a day or so in advance and make sure it’s good and seasoned up and good for everybody. So we’ll have a lot of fun.”
Hosted at the Notre Dame Hope Center, located at 185 North Carbon Ave, the corned beef and cabbage isn’t the only fan favorite up for purchase, as attendees can also enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, Irish nachos and a bevy of green beverages.
“One of the things I’m really proud of is Notre Dame also takes part of the proceeds and invests back in the community and makes donations back,” expressed Tatton. “A lot of great work goes on, so please support this. Please support the other activities in the community. Support the parade. Support the downtown businesses. It’s a big day for everybody, and let’s keep our tradition alive in the community.”
For those unable to attend the festivities in person, takeout options are available. To place an order, contact Tatton at 820-0268 or Catherine Kane at 630-0815.
Looking at the event from a personal perspective, Tatton shared his favorite part of the experience,” Beyond the fun and games, it’s the camaraderie. It’s being around the people who are doing it, who are working hard and having a great time during a fundraiser. It’s being around the community that comes to support it, and seeing friends and family from all over.”
“Thank you for being part of one of the greatest communities in the entire world,” closed Tatton. “Come out and support St. Patrick’s Day in Price, Utah, and Notre Dame for lunch.”
The Notre Dame De Lourdes Catholic Church’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration kicks off on Saturday, March 14, from noon to 8 p.m. at the Notre Dame Hope Center.
