Ogden would cut the Emery lead in half to close out the fifth.
Emery would come up in the sixth, and Trygg Jensen would hit a lead-off triple to right. The next batter up was Peyton Nielson, who would hit another triple to center, bringing Jensen into score. Up next was Garrett Conover, who hit a ground ball and reached on an error by the shortstop, driving Nielson in to put the Spartans up 4-1. With one out, Easton Stoker stepped into the batter’s box and hit a grounder and reaching on an error by the third baseman, bringing Conover in to top the Emery score at 5-1. In the bottom of the sixth, Ogden would add seven runs and then hold the Spartans off the board in the top of the seventh to take the 8-5 win.
