A shot at becoming NewBeauty Magazine’s Super Mom is within reach for Emery County resident Emily Huntington as she seeks to advance through the knockout stages and claim a spot in the magazine, along with $20,000.
“I really can’t say enough about my wife when it comes to being a mother and wife. I truly think that each one of my sons knows they are her favorite child. She puts all of us above her in every aspect,” says her husband, Tyson Huntington. “Her selflessness is remarkable. Her desire for our sons to succeed is paramount to her. She spends as much time as possible with them as well as spends as much money as she can that is reasonable on them. She supports them in every way and is their biggest cheerleader.”
Reflecting on her experiences as a mother, Emily Huntington described the biggest lesson she’s learned as “patience and unconditional love.”
She elaborates, “My heart aches for so many kids that aren’t mine. I have a nickname at the high school I work for, “Mama G”. I have talked so many kids out of dropping out, helping them understand how wonderful it’s going to be to graduate and have a family of their own. I get to cheer my own kids on & help them dream big and express that it’s not bad to believe they will receive so much good in their lives.”
This is a message that her husband corroborates: “She typically goes above and beyond to support ‘her kids’ at school. At home, she talks about the kids at school and thinks of ways to help and support them. She won’t tell me their names, so I feel like I know a bunch of kids that I don’t know.”
Emily Huntington also focuses on the outcomes of her parenting, saying that seeing her boys succeed is the most rewarding part of motherhood. “I am so wrapped up in my children’s lives and helping them navigate different obstacles, others personalities, different trials, and things that may be out of their control. I get to teach them to trust in God and they will always come out on top no matter what the circumstance.”
Currently in the knockout stage of the Super Mom Contest, those interested can vote for Emily Huntington to advance here.
