
With the start of school a few weeks away, that means the Fall Sports season must not be far behind. The Carbon Lady Dino soccer and the Dino Cross Country squads will get going on August 4. Boys golf, Lady Dino Tennis, football, and volleyball will soon follow.
The Lady Dinos soccer squad will be back on the pitch on August 4 when they will welcome the Granstville Cowboys. Last season, the Dinos finished with an 18-3 overall record, going a perfect 8-0 in region play to earn the No. 2 spot in the final rankings, falling to Manti in the semifinals. They will make their way through the season, jumping into postseason play on October 14.
Also on the fourth, the cross country team will get underway on the road for the Premier Invite at the Cottonwood complex. Teams from around the region will descend on the Carbon Country Club Golf Course on September 16 for the Carbon Invitational. The Regional Championships will be in Roosevelt and the State Championship will be at Sugarhouse Park on October 27.
On August 6, the boys golf team will get on the links as Emery hosts the region at Green River. The Dinos welcome the region to the Carbon Country Club Golf Course the following week for the first of three matches played there this season. The Dinos will host the Region Championships on September 30 and the State Championships on October 14 & 15.
The Lady Dino tennis team gets rolling on August 7 when they will be on the road for the Four-Way One-Day Tournament in Mount Pleasant. The Carbon Invitational will take place on August 14 & 15, with the region tournament coming on September 22 at North Sanpete and the State Championships taking place from October 1-3.
The Carbon Dino Football squad will be back on the field starting with the Blue and White Game on August 7 at 6:00 p.m. The following week, they will travel to take on American Leadership Academy. They will face the Emery Spartans in Castle Dale on August 21 and will hold their home opener on August 28 when they will face Juan Diego. The opening round of the State Championships will be on October 23.
Lady Dinos volleyball will be back on the court on August 11 when they will travel to Duchesne to face the Eagles. They will have their home opener two days later on August 13 when Providence Hall comes to Price. State Championships will be at Utah Valley University starting on October 29 and wrapping up on October 30.
