On Friday, the Lady Dinos closed out the non-region portion of the schedule when they faced the Juab Wasps. Both teams headed to the half tied at 2-2, but it was the Dinos who were able to make the adjustment needed to come out in the second half and close out the Wasps 5-2.

Carbon closed out the pre-season with a 5-3 overall mark, taking two back-to-back road losses against two of the top programs in 3A: Ogden and Morgan. They followed that up with three wins in a row at Canyon View and then at home for Richfield and Juab.

In Friday’s game with Juab, both teams were able to work through each other’s defenses, playing even in the first 40 minutes, 2-2. In the second half, the Dinos came out the aggressor, scoring three times to take the lead and the win over Juab, 5-2.

Blythe Bradford collected a pair of goals for Carbon. Josie Yates, Klara King, and Naomi Smith all scored one goal each, with Smith adding a pair of assists. Kayla Jones and Chrissy Jones each added an assist in the win.

The Dinos will jump into Region 13 play on Tuesday when they travel to Castle Dale to take on the Emery Spartans.

Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
