4-h

A community favorite program is opening enrollment for the 2026-27 year, as Carbon County’s 4-H looks to help kids and teens grow into lifelong learners through a wide variety of programs.

4-H Program Coordinator Sarah Marshall joined the KOAL newsroom to walk through how to register and what participants can expect.

“Enrollment opens Sept. 1, and this year we have enrollment covered thanks to Four Corners Behavioral Health C.A.R.E Coalition,” explained Marshall. “This year we have so many things planned for our teen council. We have a lot of community service projects and leadership activities planned. Our teen council has gotten together, and they are in charge of our new club this year called the Youth Council, which is grades third through sixth. So the teens will be leading the kids, which will be super cool to see.”

She continued, “Our teens will also be helping out with our Fair Club, teaching things like sewing and arts and crafts and all of the fun things that you can eventually enter into the fair at the beginning of June.”

Looking ahead to the new year, Marshall shared what excites her most about what’s coming up for 4-H: “Honestly, all of it. I love everything, seeing the kids interact with each other. I think the vibes are super high considering school just started, and they’re ready and determined to accomplish new things in our community. I’m super excited for this year and seeing how things go.”

She also shared what she most enjoyed throughout the 2025-26 session of 4-H: “We’ve been working really hard on our STEM initiative this past year. And I think our biggest camp this past year was our STEM summer camp. We had, I think, over 70 kids, which is crazy for Carbon County. And that was super cool to see.”

Closing out our conversation, Marshall shared a simple message: “Don’t forget to enroll!”

To register for 4-H, you can either find the club on Facebook at Carbon County 4-H or by visiting 4h.zsuites.org.
