Daniel “Danny” “Dan” Thomas Madsen, 58, of Castle Dale, Utah passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2026, in Castle Dale, Utah.
Dan was born October 9, 1967, in Provo, Utah; first of three children of Thomas Rulon Madsen and Linda Jean Gilmore. His parents divorced in May of 1980, and later his mother married, Chris L Jensen in 1984, and he was joined by a step-sister, Crystal Jensen and a sister, Stephanie Jensen born in 1983, and a brother, Steven Jensen born in 1984.
Dan’s early school years were spent in Fairview and in 1980, he moved to Huntington where he attended Canyon View Junior High. He graduated from Emery High in 1986.
After graduating high school, he moved to California and worked a short time as a Security Guard. Dan, or Danny as he was known by his family and friends, loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, and hunting. He always had a smile on his face and loved joking around. He would stop on the road and help others whenever he could. He loved playing with his nieces and nephews and showing them how to stack blocks, ride bikes, as well as other things. He looked forward to doing things with and taking care of his best life friend, Dawn, of 22 years. They enjoyed working puzzles, walking along the river by their home, and camping together. He loved to take his dogs on walks along the river throwing sticks for them to fetch.
Dan will be greatly missed.
Survived by his life partner of 22 years, Dawn April Evans; mother, Linda (Chris) Jensen of Huntington; brothers, Thomas Madsen of Orangeville and Steven (Samantha) Jensen of Orangeville; sisters, Stephanie (Clint) Jeffs of Roosevelt and Crystal Jensen of Huntington; nieces, Heather Adsit of Lakeville, Massachusetts, Kendra (Shawn) Sutton and Kirsten Jensen Swasey of Roosevelt, Tylee Jensen of Ferron, and Brooklyn Jensen of Price; nephews, Jody Swasey of Myton, Tyler Jensen of Ferron, Dakota (Mychigan) Jensen and Christopher (Christy) Madsen of Colorado Springs, Colorado; uncles, Victor Gilmore of Huntington, Michael (Joann) Shannon, Merland (Loretta) Jensen, Raymond Winder of Huntington, Carl (Anne) Jensen and Emmet (Ellie) Lawerence; aunt, Hope (Ruland) Hooley of Lyman; and many other cousins, great-nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by father, Thomas Rulon Madsen; grandparents, Thomas (Thelma) Madsen and Daniel (Joan) Gilmore; brother, William Madsen; aunts and uncles, Marie Fox (Val) and David (Helen) Winder; and many other great-grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
