The Carbon Dinos struggled to keep pace with the Ben Lomond Scots, dipping to 0-2 on the season with a 62-15 loss Friday night in Ogden.

Carbon’s first touchdown came in the second quarter as Nate Olsen returned a kick 95-yards for a score. The Dinos would not score again until the fourth quarter when Derek Hillam caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Triton Abeyta.

The Scots held a commanding 42-7 at the end of the first half after scoring 28 points in the second quarter. The second was a mere formality for Ben Lomond, who improved to 2-0 with the win.

Olsen once again carried the majority for the Dinos, finishing with 100 yards on the ground off of 18 carries. Hillam finished with three catches and 56 yards to go along with his score.

Ben Lomond quarterback Kenyon Harris was dominate throughout the game finishing 11-14 through the air for 280 yards and six touchdowns. Harris’s favorite target throughout the evening proved to Deontay Nish, who ended with six catches for 136 yards and three touchdowns.

Carbon will travel on the road once again Friday continue a brutal non-region schedule as they meet Snow Canyon. The next home game for the Dinos will take place on Sept. 9 against Hurricane.
