The Ascension St Matthews Church Fall Fare will take place on Friday, October 7 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday, October 8 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm inside the church located at 522 North Homestead Boulevard in Price.

This is a great opportunity for the community to come meet the new Pastor. “We are proud to announce that we have a new Pastor James Locke and his wife Samantha from Rock Valley, Iowa who joined us June 19,” stated Pam Adams, Event Coordinator. The passing of Pastor Dreary a year and half ago brought in several supply clergy as well as interim clergy before finally getting a permanent Pastor for the church.

Available for purchase on both days will be delicious homemade soups, chili, baked goods, canned pickles, beans, beets and jams. “Saturday morning we’re trying something new it’s going to be breakfast casserole dish; which means it’s all put together in one dish and can be put on a plate, we hope people will come out and share that with their morning coffee or tea,” said Adams.

The 2nd annual silent auction will take place on both days. Various gift baskets have been put together by members of the church, local merchants ranging from gift certificates, jewelry, quilts and much more. Adams spoke about where the proceeds will be used, “They go back into the community during the year for whatever needs. We support many, many things, everything from the flood victims to the Children’s Justice Center, the list just goes on forever.”

Also opened will be the ASM’s own gift shop with one of a kind items. “Our girls work very hard and some of our fellas too, work very hard all year to do some of the old fashioned crafts, hand embroidery and quilting and that kind thing. It’s certainly a look in.  We are only open twice a year and the Fall Fare is one of the events we are open for. The second is our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper in February,” said Adams.

All members of the community are invited to attended the event. For more information, contact the church at 637-0106
