Marjorie Jewkes Curtis, age 93, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, January 11th, 2018 at the Heirloom Inn in Price, Utah where she was a resident for the past 8 years.

She was born December 19th, 1924 in Kenilworth, Utah to Alma Rolla and Ruth Waterman Jewkes. She married George Louis Curtis August 1st, 1943. He died April 13th, 1987. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple on October 23rd, 2010.

She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many capacities. She proved to be a great influence in the lives of many in the community.

Marge was an outstanding vocalist and pianist. She enjoyed painting ceramics, reading, playing cards, making jewelry and visiting and storytelling. Marge worked much of her life for the Carbon County School District, teaching our youth. At age 40 she started teaching after she received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Utah in June, 1964. She retired from teaching in 1987. She was 63 years old. A while after retirement she was taken in for emergency open heart surgery. After a couple of years, she missed teaching so much, that she returned to teach as a substitute teacher, and did this for many more years.

She was a wonderful cook and loved to cook. She was known for her famous cinnamon rolls, éclairs, salads, and leg of lamb.

Marjorie’s foundation was her family, it’s what grounded her. Her strength, joy and love of life, came from her family and friends. Family values were a true virtue of Marjorie’s and she was a pillar of stability for the entire family. She always had the capacity in her heart and soul to spread her love to everyone. Sharing her love and compassion without reservation and giving more than she would ever expect in return. Her grandchildren brought a whole new dimension to her life, and she relished her time with them. She had a generous spirit and loved and cared for all she met.

Marge will be sorely missed by family, friends and the community, and she leaves us all some amazing memories.
We will remain truly blessed to have been touched by her beautiful spirit and to have her lasting legacy to cherish and share forever. Marge will always remain in our hearts, and when someone is in your heart they are never really gone.

She is survived by her children Dana Curtis Pizzuto, Price; Craig L, Price; and Mitchum J, (Debbie) Price; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband George, and son Kim G. Curtis, and brother Richard R. Jewkes, and granddaughter, Wendy Ryan.
