Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and centenarian, Mary Barajas Arroyo, passed away November 13, 2018 at the BeeHive Home in Price at the age of 100.

She was born April 20, 1918 in Pueblo, Colorado to Raymond Carallis and Daria Barajas.  On June 15, 1940, she married Jesse D. Arroyo, Sr., in Boulder, Colorado and they were blessed with four sons. Her husband preceded her in death on May 27, 2006.

Mary was a resident of Sunnyside since 1947 where she remained active in her community and church. She was a devout member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church where she was a member of the Women’s Society, Choir and was honored as Woman of the Year for her parish. She loved to keep busy and was always ready for a game of BINGO. Mary touched the lives of many and her generosity will be cherished in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her three sons, Louis (Carolyn) Arroyo, West Valley/Mesquite, NV, Alex (Sherry) Arroyo, Helper, Dennis Arroyo, Sunnyside; four sisters and one brother, Bea Davis, California, Carmen Rimron and Paul Gonzales, both of Washington, Inez Valdez, East Carbon, Claudette Gonzales, Driggs, ID; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a community of friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jesse; son, Jesse Arroyo, Jr., and a brother, Daniel Gonzales.

Funeral Mass, Friday, November 16, 2018, 10:00 a.m., Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Vigil service, Thursday evening 7:00 p.m. at the church in East Carbon. Family will receive friends at the church Thursday and Friday one hour prior to services. Committal service, Price City Cemetery.
