The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is making disposal of real Christmas trees super easy again this year by offering a recycling station from December 25 through January 10.

“When they’re done with it they don’t have to take it to the dump, they don’t have to worry about it, all they have to do is bring it by our office on Carbonville Road here in Price and we got some great upland game habitat here is Southeastern Utah but we can make it even better by providing more cover for these birds,” stated Conservation Outreach Manager, Morgan Jacobsen. For Emery County residents that would like to recycle their trees may drop them off at Desert Lake WMA located just outside of Elmo.

Jacobsen explains the different types of birds that can benefit from the collected and recycled trees, “Species like chukar partridge they really like to have good cover and so we make piles of these old Christmas trees for chukars, quail and other birds to hunker down in and it gives them good cover and good habitats.” The trees have been delivered and set up in areas such as Desert Lake and Gordon Creek in years past.

Any questions about recycling your tree please call the DWR office in Price at 613-3707.
