Erma LaRue “Dixie” Cunningham Birch returned home to her Heavenly Father on December 15, 2018.

She was born February 26, 1933 in Spring Glen, Utah the fifth of eight children born to Charles and Frances Emily Davis Cunningham.

She married Arthur Bliss “Bill” Birch on October 1, 1949. Together they had nine children. He passed away April 11, 1982.

Dixie worked many years as a nurse’s aide in Carbon and Emery Counties, taking time to gold mine with her husband Bill in Arizona for a few years prior to his death in 1982. She continued working in the nursing homes until her retirement. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed baking, making candies, cookies and pies. She was a fun person and a real jokster. Dixie loved country music and western movies especially anything with John Wayne. She was an avid John Wayne collector.

Survived by her children, Blair Cook, son in law, Huntington, Gloria Neal, Price, Debra (Al) Wilcken, Price, Linda (Marc) Stevens, Huntington, Joel White, Son in law, Price, Veronica (David) Ames, Huntington, Jerry (Mindy) Birch, Huntington; 22 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 24 great great grandchildren; sister, June Arndt, McCleary Washington; brother, Billy Cunningham, Cleveland.

Preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents; in laws; daughters, Terri and Evon; sons, Gary and Alan; sister, Norma; brothers, Harold, Edwin and Fred; granddaughters, Shawna, LeAnna and Rachelle; great great granddaughter, Kassidy.

Funeral service, Friday, December 21, 2018, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home where family will receive friends Friday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
