The Pinnacle Lady’s basketball team played in the APA Eagle Tournament last weekend walking away with a 2-2 record.

In the first game on Thursday night they beat the host team American Preparatory Academy by a final score of 33-22. Kemery Stuckenschneider and Zoey Kocks both scored six points in the winning effort. For APA, Adrianna Carter had nine points and Ariet Ocwar had five.

Friday brought the Panthers their first loss of the tournament a 39-31 loss to American Heritage Academy. Stuckenschneider scored 15 and Kocks and Stephanie Sasser both added five points each. Pinnacle was outscored 17-8 in the first half that proved to be too much of a deficit even after a 19 point third quarter.

In the first game on Saturday they were handled another loss by Tintic 44-26. the trio of Stuckenschneider, Kocks and Alyssa MacDonald scored six point each but once again a sow start found the Panthers down 14 at the end of the first half.

The second game on Saturday saw the lady Panthers get back in the win column with a 48-38 win over Utah Military Academy. Sasser had 23 point and Kocks added 7. After trailing at the half 27-18, Pinnacle came out with something to prove and out scored UMA 30-11 in the second half.

Next up for the Lady Panthers (5-8, 0-1 in region) is a road contest at Escalante (1-2, 0-1 in region) on January 8. next home game will be January 15 vs. Wayne (2-3, 1-0 in region) tip off is at 7 p.m..
