The Carbon Dinos suffered a 10-0 loss to the Cyprus Pirates in a non-region contest Saturday afternoon in Magna.

Playing in their only contest of the week, the Dinos fell behind 4-0 in the second frame. Cyprus continue to control the game with stellar pitching, allowing just two hits throughout.

Senior Braxton Bennett was tagged with the loss on the mound after giving up three earned runs in three innings of work. Collin Lewis, Adrien Sanchez and Nathan Richens combined for 2.2 innings of relief action.

Bennett provided Carbon it’s only to hits of the contest, finishing 2-3 with two singles. Jacob Vasquez, Cayden Steele and Adrien Sanchez all reached with a walk.

Now 1-4 on the season the Dinos will shift their focus to the Region 14 opener on Tuesday afternoon on the road against Providence Hall. The two teams will meet again on Friday in Helper.
