The Emery Spartans continued the track and field season with a trip to Carbon High School Saturday morning for the 2019 Farm Bureau Invitational.

Accumulating 92.5 points, the Emery boy’s team finished second-place to Grand, who ended with 136 points. Hillcrest finished in third with 60 points, followed by Carbon and Tooele in a field of 25 schools.

The Emery Lady Spartans gathered 23 points, which placed them just outside the top-10 for 11th overall. Carbon ended first with 94 points, followed by Grand with 87. Union, Uintah and Hillcrest rounded out the top five.

Junior Braiden Ivie continued to dominate the competition by again claiming first-place in both the 100 and 200 meters. Ending with a time of 10.77 in the 100, Ivie delivered a blazing time of 21.98 in the 200.

Ivie also joined with Adam Jackson, Josh Olsen and Jace Curtis to take home the top spot in the 4X100. The team finished with a time of 46.42, topping second-place Grand’s time of 46.65.

Sophomore Treven Brazier took home second in the 110 meter hurdles, while seniors Keldan Guymon and Cale Allred finished second and third in the 300 meter hurdles.

Senior Cale Allred continued to find success in the javelin as he topped teammate Guymon in the event with a metric throw of 46.35. Guymon finished right behind at 45.74, giving the Spartans a one-two finish in the event.

Both the Emery boys and girls will now prepare to travel to San Juan High School in Blanding on Wednesday for the only meet of the week.
