The Carbon County Office of Tourism is going through the process of rebranding and with the new changes as well as additions it is sure to be appealing to both residents and visitors.

“We have teamed up with the Utah Office of Tourism, they’ve chosen Carbon County as a pilot to work on this rebranding process and also to come up with a long-term strategic plan for tourism,” said Tourism Specialist, Tina Henrie. With the help from the ten-person panel the rebranding should be completed and ready to market in the next few months. The rebranding will help sell the wonderful activities and services that Carbon County has to offer.

This rebranding course comes after Roger Brooks and his team paid a visit to the Price area in May of last year. They’re known to help transform ordinary communities, places, businesses and attractions into incredibly successful destinations. “All the different cities have taken the different ideas he’s given and put them into work and so he kind of lit a fire under everyone and it was such a good time where we had new commissioners coming in, we had new mayors elected and so everyone was super excited and that kind of started the ball rolling for us,” said Henrie. Brooks is the go-to expert for anyone with ties to the travel industry or in downtown development where most travel spending takes place.

Part of the rebranding process was to establish a centralized place to inform community members and visitors about events or activities taking place in the Castle Country area. “So with the efforts of the Community Economic Council the county helped to create a new website so that’s www.castlecountryevents.com You can go to that website at any time and find out what’s going on in Carbon and we hope to put Emery County events in there as well because we don’t see a county line and where they’re only a 30 minute drive we can be doing things in both areas. We also with the help from our IT Department created a text app, which is fabulous, so at any time you want to know what is going on either as a local or a visitor you can just text CCEVENTS to 555888,” stated Henrie. The Carbon County Recreation Department is currently managing the website. Any individuals or groups that have an upcoming event can easily submit online their information to the calendar at any time.
