The Pleasant Valley Days committee invites everyone up to Scofield for their annual celebration on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6. This celebration has become a family tradition for decades with events and activities for all ages.

Both Friday and Saturday there will be several vendors set up in the park with various items such as food, crafts, retail and other unique stuff. There will be a dinner on Friday night in the park beginning at 5:30 pm till 8:00 pm with a cost of $10.00 for a regular portion and $5.00 for a small portion. Guests can enjoy music and dancing by Rusty Fenders whose genre is classic rock and blues. They will be playing both Friday and Saturday nights.

On Saturday morning, plan on attending the famous breakfast in the park at 8:00 am till 10:30 am. The hearty meal will feature pancakes, bacon, eggs, hash browns, coffee or orange juice, with a cost of $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under the age of 12. Cash, credit cards and checks will be accepted.

Participants in the parade will need to be lined up at Church Street by 10:00 am for registration and judging. The parade will start at 11:00 am.

Following the parade, there will be games in the park for the kids including the usual free treasure hunt, enjoy live entertainment and don’t forget to visit the old Mine Disaster exhibit that is located at the old school house. Everyone is invited to participate in the opportunity games being held from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the park. The winners of the silent auction will be announced at 5:00 pm in the pavilion.

Returning this year is the doubles horseshoe tournament which will start registration after the parade and the tournament will start at 12:30 pm. For further tournament information please call (435) 820-6636.

Saturday night will close out with a wonderful firework display over the lake at 10:00 pm. Guests are invited to watch from the park while listening to live music or they may find a safe place around the lake to enjoy the show.
