Sydney Stilson found the back of the net twice as the Emery Lady Spartans earned their first win of the season in a 5-0 lopsided victory over South Summit Tuesday afternoon in Castle Dale.

Entering without a win in four contests to start the season, Emery wasted no time getting out in front. Going into the break with a 3-0 lead, the Lady Spartans continued to pour it on by adding two more goals in the final stanza.

Aspen Hansen, Kiralyn Olsen and Tenyson Allred all scored once. The five goal output marked the strongest offensive performance of the season for Emery.

Goalkeeper Kiri Cook recorded the shutout in the crease for Emery. Ending with five saves, Cook played all 90 minutes at the position in the win.

Now 1-4 on the season the Lady Spartans will look to keep the momentum going as they travel on the road Thursday for a non-region contest with the Millard Eagles. Start time for the road contest is scheduled for 3:30 p.m..

Tuesday Emery will begin Region 12 action with a road game with Grand. The tilt will be the second of three straight away contests.
