The Pinnacle Panthers faced the Diamond Ranch Academy Diamondbacks on Friday at Colosimo-Carlson Field losing in five innings 13-1.

Pinnacle (4-14 overall and 0-11 in region) have struggled in their last two games. Coming off an 8-5 victory against non-region opponent Tabiona, their last two games have been against the top two teams in 1A South standings.

Offense was tough to find in this game for the Panthers as Diamond Ranch only gave up two hits to seniors Christian McLean and Benjamin Scott and junior Landen Hardey had the only run.

On the mound for Pinnacle, sophomore Mcguire Kocks went four innings giving up eight hits and six runs (four earned) while striking out two. McLean would come in going one inning with six hits and seven runs (six earned).

With the season coming to a close the Panthers have just three games left on their schedule up next they travel to Junction to take on Piute High School (10-7 and 6-5), this is the second time that they have faced off with the Thunderbirds winning the first meeting on August 30, 18-2.

The Panthers final home game of the season will be Friday September 27 when they will play Bryce Valley. The first pitch will be at 3:00 p.m..
