The Pinnacle Lady Panthers participated in the Pinnacle Winter Classic last weekend. The tournament featured 17 teams from five different schools playing 26 games in two days. The Panthers would go 2-2 on the weekend.

The Panthers sit at 4-4 and are looking to Thursday when the initial RPI rankings will come out. The RPI is the system that will rank teams in the state when playoff time comes around in February.

Friday December 13

Dugway- 27

Pinnacle- 47

In the first game of the tournament, Pinnacle flexed their defensive muscles early allowing Dugway to score just one point in the first quarter and doubling them up at halftime 28-14. The Panthers would then come out in the second half outscoring the Mustangs 17-13.

Stephanie Sasser would lead the way for the Panthers in this one with 16 points. Kemery Stuckenschneider would add 11 and Destinee Andrews dropped in seven.

Saturday December 14

Merit College Preparatory- 30

Pinnacle- 26

In the first of three games on Saturday the Panthers would play Merit College Preparatory. It was a hard fought game that went back and forth but in the end Pinnacle would fall by four.

Tabiona- 50

Pinnacle- 23

In game number two the Panthers were down by two after quarter one and 26-18 at the half. Tabiona would hold Pinnacle to one point in the third quarter and never look back.

Stephanie Sasser would lead the Panthers with 14 points and Destinee Andrews would add four.

Pinnacle- 35

Freedom Preparatory- 29

In the final game the Lady Panthers would take on Freedom Preparatory Academy. Pinnacle would come away with the win in this one, ending the tournament at 2-2.

Up next for Pinnacle they will play American Preparatory Academy out of West Valley, at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Wednesday the 17th.
