Price City Police Department would like to invite everyone to give blood at the Community Blood Drive on Wednesday, June 3 from 10:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Southeast Association of Local Government building located at 375 South Carbon Ave in Price.

“We will be hosting the blood drive with American Red Cross. However, is general practice its usually occurred at the City Hall or Police Department,” said Chief Brandon Sicilia. “Due to the pandemic, right now everything is obviously currently on lockdown. However, the American Red Cross has reached out to us and they are in such need of blood and they have begged us to please keep this going without cancellation.” The American Red Cross states that one donation can potentially save up to three lives and 36,000 units of red blood cells are needed every day.

“We are going to make sure that it’s safe. It is going to be one of those times that masks are obviously going to be mandatory. We will have people at the door taking temperatures and like I said the Red Cross is one of the most extremely safe organizations out there,” stated Chief Sicilia. A successful donation can be made on the day of the Blood Drive by being in good general health and feeling well; drinking plenty of water, have a healthy meal before you donate, it’s a pretty safe and quick process.
