USU-Eastern sophomores Ana Borges and Barbara Cousino were both honored with a second-team Scenic West Athletic Conference selection as the basketball season wrapped up this past Thursday.

Cousino, a 5-foot-8 guard from Chile, has been a key component to the Lady Golden Eagles roster over the past two seasons. Leading the team in scoring throughout the year, Cousino finished with averages of 13 points, five rebounds and three assists per contest.

Borges, a 5-foot-11 forward from Brazil, led the team in double-doubles and delivered consistent production throughout the season. Averaging 9.3 points per contest, Borges also chipped with seven rebounds, two steals and two assists throughout the year, while posting nearly 29 minutes a game.

After winning four of their first six games of the season, the Lady Golden Eagles limped to a 9-20 finish overall, which included a 2-13 conference mark. USU-Eastern's season came to a close on Thursday following an 84-67 loss to North Idaho in the opening round of the conference tournament.
