Carbon High School senior Sara Morley was named the Region 12 Most Valuable Player, leading three other Lady Dinos who received post season recognition for outstanding play during the recent basketball season.
Lindsey Blanc and Morgan Hillam received an All-Region First Team selection and Taylor Passarella was named to the All-Region second team. The four girls were instrumental for the Lady Dinos Region 12 championship run, which led to a third place finish at the state championship tournament in February.
Morley averaged a double-double throughout the season scoring 11.5 points and accumulating 10.1 rebounds per game. Her standout senior season led to a scholarship at Utah State University-Eastern, where she will play both basketball and volleyball in 2016-17.
Blanc, a standout junior, posted a team best 12.5 points per contest out of the backcourt. Taking on an expanded role due to an injury to Jordan Scoggins, Blanc also averaged three steals, three assists and three rebounds per game. Hillam also posted consistent numbers finishing with five points and four rebounds per contest.
Junior Taylor Passarella earned the second team nod after posting 4.6 points, three rebounds and nearly two assists per game.
