The Creekview Elementary Spring calendar is going to be jam packed of events when they return from their Spring Break which is scheduled from Thursday, March 24th through Monday, March 28th.
Kindergarten Roundup for the school will be held on Tuesday, April 5th. Janell Nelson, PTA President further explained, “You need to have your birth certificate, up to date immunization records, they need to be 5 on or before September 21st. Our Kindergarten Roundup is April 5th from 9 am to 11 am.” The roundup is an opportunity for administrators to get an idea of how many new students to expect for the upcoming year so that they may plan accordingly.
Currently the entire school is hosting a food drive for the month of March proceeds will benefit the local food bank. “On April 4th they start the Can-struction project, where each grade builds things out of cans and then they have everyone come in and take a look at them on Friday,” stated Nelson.
On Friday, April 8th, parents are invited to Drop Everything and Read with their student for the last 20 minutes of school in their classroom. “The kids really seem to like it when their parents show up or grandparents or whoever wants to come read with them,” Nelson said.
Family engineering Night is schedule for Thursday, April 21st. Nelson explained what the evening would consist of, “Teachers and the community members provide different engineering opportunities and activities for our kids to try out and basically it’s a way to get kids interested in engineering.”
The month of April will close out with an Earth Day Celebration on Tuesday, April 22nd and their annual Volunteer Appreciation luncheon on the Tuesday, April 29th. Further details will be sent home with each student as the event gets closer.
The month of May will be busy with yearend activities but the school kick things off with a full week dedicated to Teach Appreciation, which will run from Monday, May 2nd through Friday, May 6th.
