The Carbon Lady Dinos opened the new golf season with a third place finish at the Canyon Hills golf course Wednesday afternoon in Nephi.

Once again under the Modified Stableford scoring system, Juab took full advantage of their home course advantage ending with 128 points. Canyon View finished in a distant second with 95, followed by Carbon's 90. North Sanpete and Richfield rounded out the remainder of the field.

Senior Keely Marquez led the Lady Dinos with 28 points, followed by fellow senior Lexi Garcia's 23. Junior Laini Davis scored 20, while junior Gwyn Cardelis finished with 19.

The Lady Dinos will have the opportunity to cut into the leads posted by Juab and Canyon View when the seasons shifts to Cedar Ridge, the home course of Canyon View, in Cedar City on Tuesday. Following the meet, league play will pause for spring break until April 13.
