Brittney Lee has officially resigned as head coach of the volleyball program after holding the position for one season, it was announced Wednesday by athletic director Dave Paur.

Lee, who took over for former head coach Chelsey Warburton in May of 2015, will step away from coaching and relocate with her husband. The Eagles finished with a 12-18 record overall and a 3-9 mark in Scenic West Athletic Conference play during Lee’s lone season as head coach. USU-Eastern closed out the season with a loss to North Idaho in the opening round of the conference tournament.

The 14 roster spots for the upcoming season have already been filled and the school will now search for both a head and assistant coach. The season is scheduled to officially begin in August.

Prior to her tenure at USU-Eastern Lee spent two seasons as the head coach of Southern Virginia University. In 2011 she served as the junior varsity girls head coach at Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Phoenix, Ariz.

As a player Lee earned two all-state selections and was named all-region Player of the Year, while leading her team to a state championship her senior season in 2004 at Mountain Ridge High School in Highland, Utah.
