The Carbon Lady Dinos played 18 holes of Region 12 golf at Soldier Hollow in Midway, home of this year’s state tournament, finishing second on the front nine and third on the back.
With each of the five region team’s playing 18 holes instead of the traditional nine, the front and back nines were divided into two separate competitions. Juab easily handled the front nine scoring 125 points in the Modified Stableford system. Carbon finished in second with 88 points, North Sanpete in third with 86. Canyon View finished fourth, just ahead of last place Richfield.
Lexi Garcia led the Lady Dinos with a 25 point performance in the first nine holes. Indie Gardner and Keely Marquez both scored 22 and Laini Davis finished with the fourth best score at 19.
Juab managed to deliver a similar performance on the back nine as they finished with 116 points. In the final nine holes North Sanpete topped Carbon 100-89 and again followed by Canyon View and Richfield.
Garcia once again posted the highest individual score for Carbon finishing with 24 points. Marquez improved her point total to 23 and Davis to 22. Aubrey Faussett notched the fourth best score with 20.
Now sitting in third place overall in the Region 12 standings, the Lady Dinos will have an opportunity to chip away at North Sanpete’s lead when the season resumes on April 27. The next stop will be at the Skyline Resort, the home course for North Sanpete.
