The Castleview Weight Loss Center will be hosting their annual 5K and Health Fair on Saturday, May 21 at Castleview Hospital.  Registration begins at 8:30 am and shot gun start at 9:00 am. The Health Fair will run from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

Early registration is encourage in order to receive an event t-shirt. The cost for an individual is $15.00 and for a family is $25.00. The family price does not include event t-shirts but they may be purchased separately for $8.00.

Dr. Jon Presett explained where the proceeds will go, “We joined up with a team called HART the Humanitarian Aid Relief Team and it’s a group of medical providers and nurses and things that go to Ghana and provide medical care for communities there.” This is a great opportunity for Carbon and Emery counties to give back to those that lack in standard health care. Along with the 5K walk/run there will be a Health Fair for participants and spectators to enjoy. “Businesses and groups in the community, other providers, other physician offices and different people that are going to come and have booths and provide the health fair during and after the 5K. So there will be a little bit of time for people to hang out and hopefully have some benefit that way as well,” said Presett. The event is a great way for the entire community to come out and kick off their summer in a healthy fashion. “People from all ages that joined us last year for our 5K, there were strollers, kids and older people, everyone that really just came out to run or to walk, to have a good time,” said Presset.

Deadline for early registration is Wednesday, May 18 by 5:00 pm.
