USU Eastern would like to invite any High School Seniors or Non-traditional Students to the New Student Open House on Monday, May 16 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center. Come join faculty and staff for this very special event.
David Mathis, Marketing Manager spoke about the event, “The great thing about it is that it’s going to be a “one-stop shop” to do everything that you need to do to go to college. You can walk in the door with nothing and you can walk out being admitted, being registered for classes, having your financial aid or scholarships lined up, housing everything you need.”
This event will help answer any questions that potential students may have about particular programs offered at USU Eastern. “We will have people there that can answer all of your questions about the programs, so academic programs or athletic programs or just extracurricular activities like clubs or student government or leadership opportunities. We’ll be able to get you all set up with the right people for those there. So really, any questions that you might have about attending college in the Fall from what do I want to study? To what kind of fun things are there to do or how can I get involved. We’ll be able to help you out with that on Monday night,” said Mathis.
Attending USU Eastern is not only an attraction for Carbon and Emery students but for other students in the state as Mathis explains, “Our tuition rates are the lowest in the state and so you will be taking Utah State classes that are transferable up to Logan and to a lot of the other state schools but at a much lower tuition rate. So you can stay here locally, save a lot of money but still get the same college education that you would be getting at any of the other larger campuses around the state.”
USU Eastern gives students the feel of a big college life with a small town feel which is ideal for the first two years for a student to get their Associates Degree, by this time a student has a pretty good idea of what and where they would like to continue to further their education. Mathis finished with, “If you want to go up to Logan you’re not really transferring, you can just start registering for classes up there and move up to Logan to start getting your Bachelor’s degree up at USU Logan or we have a lot of Bachelor degree options here in Price as well. There is a lot you can do down here in Price and we want to make sure that people are aware of that and that’s why we are holding this event just so they can get the full spectrum and picture of what’s going on and to help them get into classes here.”
