The Emery County Fair is sure to be a great time with entertainment for the entire family. Events will kick off on Wednesday, June 8 and run through to Saturday, June 11 at the Emery County Fairgrounds located at 75 South 400 East in Castle Dale.

Julie Jones, Fair Committee Member spoke about this year’s event, “Our Castle Dale Days is also with the Emery County Fair, so its jammed packed. We have fireworks; we’re going to have fireworks also this year there’s a lot of new things.” On Tuesday, June 7 exhibit items such as quilts, picnic baskets, bread sculptors will be received from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm at the Recreation Center, judging will begin on Wednesday at 12:00 pm.

On Wednesday there will be a free swim day held at the Aquatic Center till 4:00 pm. “We have a kids rodeo and a barbeque on Wednesday, we have vendors, have senior citizen lunch, cupcake games, lippin with the stars, Desertview Pro Rodeo that starts Thursday, Friday and Saturday,” said Jones. The barbeque will begin at 4:30 pm till 6:00 pm and the cost is $2.00 per person. The kids rodeo starts at 6:30 pm and a movie at the baseball field will close out the day.

On Thursday and Friday vendors will be set up and ready for visitors to purchase items such as jewelry, homemade crafts and food. Animal exhibits will begin competition in the indoor arena at 9:00 am and the public is invited to watch. Jones added, “There’s beach ball bingo, sandbox safari, cupcake contests, picnic basket contest, we have a truck show, farmer for a day, parade is on Saturday and we have two bands coming this year.” Both Friday and Saturday night in the pavilion Johnny V and The Trouble Train will perform for the crowd. The fair will close out with fireworks on Saturday night and the No Limits band will perform.
