Emery High School senior Bryce Dugmore has been selected to the 2A All-State Second Team following a standout 2016 campaign.

Tabbed as one of the team’s top starting pitchers, Dugmore also played a key role for the Spartans in the field as the team’s shortstop. His contributions on the field also led to a 2A All-Star game selection.

Dugmore was a key contributor for Emery during their run through the state tournament that included two upset wins in the opening rounds. After the Spartans defeated South Sevier in the first round, Dugmore earned a win on the mound against Kanab to help Emery advance to the quarterfinals.

“Bryce did step into a starting role and contributed throughout the entire year,” said manager Steve Gordon. “For the most part I think all of our seniors ended on a high note and overall they had a good experience.”

Dugmore was the lone Emery player to earn an All-State nod. The 2A All-State teams were selected by each of the coaches in the classification and the Deseret News selects a MVP from the group.
