Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt Roberta Ethel Duvall Ariotti, age 94, passed away June 17, 2016 in Price, Utah.
Roberta was born in Dragon, Utah on April 25, 1922 to Robert and Ethel Duvall. She married Richard H. Ariotti on March 15, 1943.
Roberta was a long time resident of Carbon County and often shared stories of her youth in the Uintah Basin as well as Standardville, Helper and Price. But her fondest memories were those of Castle Gate and her family, friends and neighbors.
Mom was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses January 11, 1958. She was active in the Price Congregation for many years. She especially enjoyed going to conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses throughout the West and Canada. Mom also enjoyed vacationing with family. Mom’s many trips to Yellowstone included brothers, sisters, grandparents, kids and grandkids. At home mother was most content tending her flowers and garden. She had green thumb and a unique method of dealing with grasshoppers. Weeds didn’t stand a chance in Grammy’s yard. Mom’s house was always spic and span. Mom was a collector but her favorites were dolls, bells, and thimbles. Avon will truly miss mom, as we will miss the gifts.
Mother had many talents, her embroidery was beautiful. Mother did not shy from an adventure, and followed her sons and husband on her own snowmobile wherever they led, even into a white out snowstorm. We will miss her many stories and sense of humor.
Mom and Dad always made sure those close to them were well taken care of. Berta’s blue eyes sparkled whenever grandchildren were present. It didn’t matter her age or the game, Berta always participated. She enjoyed tending her grandchildren. Mom welcomed and loved each new member of her family.
Survived by his daughters Dianne (Jim) Mark and Carole (Gary) Bowers, sons Richard and David (Shawnee) Ariotti, her sister Betty (Clyde) Grames and brother in law Claude McAlister. “Berta Baby” has 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband Kydo, parents Robert and Ethel Duvall, and six brothers and sisters, Arland (Rhea) Duvall, Lauretta (Ben) Baker, Glenda (Carles) Marsing, Duane Duvall, infant Ferris Duvall, and Virginia McAlister.
Funeral service, Wednesday, June 22, 2016, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main, Price, Utah). Visitation Tuesday, June 21, 2016, 6:00 – 7:30 and Wednesday one hour prior to services.
