Bob is survived by his daughters, Jana Shiner Iversen (Garth), of Fruit Cove, Florida, and Becky Shiner Stong (Kraig), of Hammond, Wisconsin. Bob is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Lucille Stone Shiner; his sisters, Shirley Shiner Guymon, Geraldine Shiner Dimick, and his parents Lafinta (Peggy) Ashcroft Shiner and Oran Elmore Shiner.

R.O. Shiner was born on December 28, 1926 in Richfield, Utah. He served in the Navy from 1944-1946, and the Air Force Reserve until 1955. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 1951 with a degree in Zoology. Bob was a great family man and loving father and grandfather. He married Janet Stone in 1952, and the couple had two children together. Bob was employed by the Continental Oil Company, where he worked in various capacities for more than 30 years. His job with Conoco took his family to Boise and Twin Falls, Idaho, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Billings, Montana. After the death of his wife in 2005, Bob moved to Moab, Utah, and then, in 2013, to Jacksonville, Florida.

Bob enjoyed woodworking, camping and fishing. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind and selfless person.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., on July 12, 2016, at Price City Cemetery with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bob’s life. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends may share memories of Bob at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
