Averie’s Army is hosting a dinner and silent auction fundraiser on Saturday, July 16 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Museum of the San Rafael located at 70 North 100 East in Castle Dale.

At only 19 months old a cancerous mass was found in Averie’s chest cavity, most of it was removed but unfortunately grew back and spread to her brain. The rare childhood cancer she has is called plueropulmonary blastoma. She has had a total of six surgeries as well as chemo and radiation. Her cancer is so rare and aggressive that she has spent many months in the hospital, all of the while her family is accumulating substantial amounts of hospital expenses.

The fundraiser dinner will include beef flautas, rice and beans for the cost of $20.00 per plate.  There will also be a silent auction held during dinner with various items donated by area businesses and individuals.

Averie is the middle child of Brent and Jodie Ward; younger sister to Kenlee and older sister to Bryson all of Ferron.
