For the fourth year in a row Habitat for Humanity of Castle Country received a $35,000 grant from the Sorenson Legacy Foundation which will be used to help fund personnel for the upcoming year. This could not have come at a better time since there has been some changes and additions to the personnel within the agency.janessa

Former Executive Director, Karen Martino-Basso recently left for another job that is more aligned with her interests, which opened up her position. However, it was quickly filled by lifelong Carbon County resident, Janessa Marinos who has already been busy attending training, acquainting herself with the affiliate. Marinos is looking forward to being a part of Habitat for Humanity and building great relationships within the community.

AnothGwener new staff addition to Habitat is an AmeriCorps VISTA worker, Gwen Peck who comes by way of Michigan. She will be based in Green River and will be working with the affiliate by creating the organizations first strategic plan, policies, public and community outreach and grant writing. Peck is excited to be based out of Green River due to
the fact that she has not spent much time in this section of the country.
