The annual Helper Arts Festival Car Show will take place on Thursday, August 18 through Saturday, August 20 in Helper.

Roger Metzger, Event Organizer talked about the details, “Thursday we have a cruise that is going on beginning at Main Street and First West. Part of Main Street will be blocked off for the Gallery Stroll so we are just going to play it by ear, then we will cruise on Main and go on First West and then come back.” The cruise is free to anyone that would like to show off their pride and joy.

Friday evening will be the popular event of the Burn Out contest. It will be held at Helper City Park, with registration to begin at 6:00 pm, with the competition set to start at 7:00 pm.

The Car Show will be held on Saturday, August 20 on South Main Street. Registration begin at 8:00 am, show begin at 10:00 am and awards ceremony will be held at 3:00 pm. “There will be all kinds of cars, over fifty trophies, thirty different classes, there will be 50s music, food and event shirts, everybody will have a good time,” said Metzger. Two new categories have been added this year, peddle car and tractor.

“If you are going to bring a car its $15.00 for the first car and $10.00 for any other cars,” stated Metzger. If participants pre-register by Monday, August 15 they will get a dinner certificate.
