The Emery Lady Spartans dipped to 0-2 on the young season as they were shutout for the second consecutive game, this time in a 3-0 loss to the Juab Wasps Tuesday night in Nephi.

After a solid defensive first half the Lady Spartans entered the break in a scoreless tie with the Wasps. The final half played entirely in favor of Juab as Reggie Myers scored two goals and Lily Reese added one.

Tuesday’s loss for Emery comes just days after suffering an 8-0 setback in the season opener against Provo. A member of the 2A classification, the Lady Spartans will play their first six games of the season against an opponent from a higher classification.

Emery will have a chance to log their first victory of the season when they return to the field on Thursday for the home opener. The Lady Spartans will welcome in the Union Cougars who are winless in four games.

Thursday’s home opener is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm, and will be the last game of the week for the Lady Spartans.
