The annual Peach Days Celebration in Ferron will take place on Wednesday, September 7 through Saturday, September 10 with scheduled events to satisfy all ages.
On Wednesday exhibits will be accepted at City Hall from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm; floral and baked items are due on Thursday. Exhibits will go on display for the public to enjoy on Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday, 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at City Hall.
Thursday events will be held at Mayors Park beginning at 3:30 pm will be the Sidewalk Picasso event, with Peach Days Royalty performances at 4:00 pm, followed by a Dessert Contest at 5:00 pm and a Bike Ride at 6:00 pm.
Friday evening will bring a delicious dinner starting at 6:00 pm with a cost of $5.00 per plate. Team roping and vendor booths will begin at 6:00 pm, with a firework display at dusk, followed by a Light Bright Fun Run.
On Saturday the local fire department will host a breakfast from 7:00 am to 9:00 am at the station, with the cost of $5.00 per person. The parade will begin at 10:00 am at Mill Road and State Street. The Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Ceremony and Field of Flags starts at 11:00 am at the Church Park, this is a new start time then what has been previously advertised.
A Free Family Fun Day, a car show, soapbox derby will be held at Mayors Park, plus a few sporting events will be held such as the golf tournament all day at Millsite Golf Course and Paddle Board Races at Millsite Reservoir.
There are a few ticketed events on Saturday, the Horse Races begin at 1:00 pm, Ranch Rodeo is to be held during the races, demolition derby at 6:00 pm and a dance following the derby, all events will be held at the fairgrounds. The cost is $7.00 per person or $25.00 for a family of 5 and children 5 years and under are free. Discount tickets are available at City Hall until Friday.
