3A North:
Emery- 6 (1-2), Delta- 9:
Emery led the majority of the game, but two costly turnovers allowed the Rabbits to take a three point lead in the final minutes of action. Senior Ethan Winter’s potential game tying kick was blocked, resulting in an Emery loss. Senior Kolton Butler scored the team’s only touchdown on a 21-yard pass from Zac Jorgensen.
Carbon- 7 (0-3), Snow Canyon- 51:
Carbon is still in search of their elusive first win after falling on the road to 3AA Snow Canyon. Junior Nathan Olsen once again eclipsed the 100-yard barrier, this time finishing with 151 yards off of 30 carries.
Juan Diego- (1-1), BYE
Grantsville- 0 (1-2), Stansbury- 35:
Trailing 6-0 at the end of the first quarter, the Cowboys lost control off the game as Stansbury scored 22 points in the second. Grantsville struggled to find the rhythm offensively as they were held under 100 yards for the game.
Morgan- 34 (1-2), Payson- 20:
The Trojans earned their first victory of the season as they doubled up 4A Payson 20-10 in the second half. Austin Francis posted two touchdowns for the Trojans, while Conley Breshears and Tucker Skinner each added one on the ground.
Union-0 (0-3), Uintah- 49:
Unable to put up any points the Cougars held tough defensively up until the fourth quarter. Trailing by 13 at half time and 21 at the end of the quarter, the Cougars gave up 28 points in the final stanza.
3A South:
Manti- 7 (1-2), Pine View- 24:
Kolby Olsen scored the first touchdown of the game to the Templars an early 7-0 advantage, but Manti was held scoreless the rest of the way. Mac Stevens had a solid performance for Manti, finishing with 60 yards on 12 attempts, while quarterback Marshall Dotson completed 6-15 passes for 106 yards an one interception.
Delta- 9 (2-1), Emery- 6:
The Rabbits trailed 6-0 the majority of the contest, but tied the game up in the third quarter as Jake Day found Reygan Riding for a seven yard touchdown pass. Junior Sam Clark nailed a 32-yard field goal with less than three minutes to play give Delta the win.
Juab- 13 (1-2), Salem Hills- 20:
The Wasps entered the fourth quarter tied at 13 with Salem Hills. The only score allowed by either team in the final 12 minutes was a 41-yard touchdown run by Villi Wolfgramm of Salem Hills, which was enough to send Juab to their second straight loss. Ryker Osborne and Joey Aagard scored the two Juab touchdowns on the ground.
North Sanpete- 15 (2-1), Maple Mountain- 12 OT:
Tied 9-9 at the end of regulation North Sanpete got the victory as Chance Clawson scored from one-yard out on the second possession to top Maple Mountain’s field goal. Waylon Atkinson led the way for North Sanpete with 76 yards off of only 19 carries.
Canyon View- 8 (0-3), Cedar- 28:
The Falcons were held scoreless for three quarters before Stockton Rigby found Abe Huxford for a 35-yard touchdown. Cedar quarterback Mason Fakahua had a brilliant game, throwing for 202 yards and scores, while also recording 128 yards on the ground.
Richfield- 14 (0-3), San Juan- 40:
The Wildcats scored the game’s first touchdown but then gave up 40 straight points as they dipped to 0-3 on the season. Quarterback Emmitt Hafen gathered 142 all purpose yards in the loss and finished with one touchdown.
