Castle Country Radio Stations is teaming up with Carbon County Chamber of Commerce to bring a new monthly segment called Good News Minutes from the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce. Members of the Chamber of Commerce will come in each month to talk about upcoming events/projects that are happening in the Castle Country area for the month.

Kerrie Barker, Campaign Coordinator said, “So in September we had a competition for the Best Place to Stay So You Can Go Play and it was a great success our Best in Business winners for that, our top three was the Ramada, National 9-Price River Inn and our number one was Holiday Inn Express. It has been fun trying to get our best foot forward and let everyone know what we have in our community.” The Best in Business competitions are conducted quarterly for any businesses in Carbon County wishing to participate.

The Southeastern Utah Economic Development office is working with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development with the Aerospace Road Trip. “It’s the Aerospace Road Trip – what that is where the Governor’s Office of Economic Development will be bringing several aerospace companies to Emery and Carbon County. The purpose of this visit is for the aerospace companies to find new suppliers. So if your company is interested in learning more please contact the Economic Development Director, Tami Ursenbach at 636-3294,” stated Barker.

Another update from our local Economic Development office is the Beautification Sub-Committee, Barker explained further, “What that is focusing on creating a more welcoming county. The first step is to beautify exit 240, so what they have also included Nelco and Nelson Constructions and UDOT for this project.” This is to make the exit more appealing to the eyes of visitors coming to our area.

If you or your organization has an event or project coming up and would like to share the details with the community contact the Chamber of Commerce at 637-2788 or by email at cccc@carboncountychamber.net
