Four Carbon High School senior student-athletes have been recognized for their excellence in the classroom during the 2016 fall season with a selection to the Academic All-State team in their respective sport by the Utah High School Activities Association and the Deseret News.
Sadie Crompton was selected to both the 3A girls soccer and cross country team, needing a 4.000 to qualify for both. Crompton participated in both sports throughout the fall, helping the Lady Dinos to a Region 12 championship in cross country.
Sarah Ohlwiler was also named to the cross country Academic-All State team, joining Crompton and nine others on the final team. Like Crompton, Ohlwiler competed at the state finale competition on Oct. 19.
Golfer Kayden Alderson was one of 10 selected to the boys golf team, whose minimum GPA to qualify was set at 3.956. Alderson also finished in Region 12’s top three for performance on the course during the regular season.
Boys cross country runner Paul Bryner was also selected, joining 16 others who finished with a perfect. 4.0 GPA.
